Round-the-Clock Relief: Tambora Emergency Post Opens to Support Fire Victims

Police have opened a service post for fire victims in Duri Utara, Tambora, West Jakarta. The post is intended to help residents who lost important documents during the recent fire. Located at the RW 02 post in Duri Utara, the service is available for those seeking to replace birth certificates, ID cards, family cards, and other official papers. Victims are encouraged to visit the post directly for assistance.

Tambora Police Chief Commissioner Muhammad Kukuh Islami stated on Monday (21/7/2025) that the post operates 24 hours a day. The initiative began immediately after the fire to accommodate residents needing to report their losses. Kukuh emphasized their readiness to serve the community around the clock. The aim is to provide swift and accessible services to those affected.

The police have set up equipment, including printers, at the post to issue loss reports on-site. This allows for immediate documentation and the facilitation of document reissuance. As of 4:00 PM, only two residents had filed reports, citing the loss of their ID cards, family cards, and various certificates. Many documents were completely destroyed before they could be retrieved.
The service post will remain active until all affected residents are assisted. The Tambora Police are also coordinating with other agencies to support post-disaster recovery efforts. Earlier that day, a major fire destroyed approximately 70 homes in the Duri Utara area, with the number potentially increasing. Displaced residents are currently being sheltered at a nearby community hall about 100 meters from the site.
