100 Central Jakarta Residents Receive Public Order Education

A total of 100 Central Jakarta residents, members of the Community for Public Order Awareness (MPT), took part in a socialization session on Regional Regulation No. 8 of 2007 concerning Peace and Public Order (Trantibum) on Monday (Sept 29). The program, framed as a Community Protection Empowerment activity, was organized by the Central Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) at the Golden Boutique Hotel ballroom in Kemayoran.

Deputy Head of Satpol PP Jakarta, M Rizki, opened the event with a message about collective responsibility in building a safe city. He underlined that community participation through MPT is a benchmark for improving security on the path toward a global city.

Rizki stressed that while support from local government units and vertical agencies is important, residents’ involvement remains the backbone of effective implementation. The meeting also served as a forum for dialogue, where citizens could share challenges from their neighborhoods. By fostering active engagement, the session sought to align local concerns with citywide policies for peace and order. Rizki invited participants to ask questions and voice aspirations that could strengthen harmony and discipline in Jakarta.

Head of Satpol PP Central Jakarta, TP Purba, detailed the essence of the regulation, which is structured around ten principles of order: roads, green lanes, rivers, environment, businesses, buildings, social life, health, entertainment venues, and community participation. According to Purba, these areas reflect the daily interactions that determine whether the city thrives in safety and civility. The workshop, therefore, aimed not only to educate but also to inspire a stronger sense of accountability among residents.

Purba concluded with a call for widespread advocacy of orderly behavior across neighborhoods. For him, Trantibum is not simply the domain of law enforcement, but a shared culture to be embedded in daily life. He expressed hope that participants would act as local ambassadors of discipline, encouraging others to respect rules and maintain harmony. The socialization reinforced the message that a peaceful Jakarta begins with empowered citizens who take ownership of public order.
