Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a forecast predicting that parts of Jakarta will experience light rain later today. According to the agency’s release on Saturday, September 14, the afternoon is expected to bring light showers in East and North Jakarta. Meanwhile, areas such as West, Central, South Jakarta and the Thousand Islands will be covered by thick clouds. This projection underscores BMKG’s continued effort to provide timely updates for urban residents.
In the evening, the light rain is expected to persist in South and East Jakarta. Other areas, including West, Central Jakarta and the Thousand Islands, are predicted to remain under heavy cloud cover. The pattern suggests uneven rainfall distribution across the capital. For many commuters, this will serve as an early reminder to prepare accordingly.
Earlier in the day, from morning until noon, the overall weather conditions in Jakarta and the Thousand Islands were forecast to be generally bright and partly cloudy. BMKG emphasized that no rain would occur during this timeframe. This offers residents a window of dry conditions before the weather changes in the evening. It highlights the agency’s accuracy in segmenting forecasts by time of day.
The daily report also provided specific climate details. The temperature range is expected to vary between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, humidity levels are projected to remain between 60 and 89 percent. Such conditions reflect Jakarta’s tropical climate and the delicate balance between sunshine, rain, and atmospheric moisture.
