Government of Jakarta, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, expressed strong support for the launch of the national EPIC (Every Purchase is Cheap) SALE 2025 program at Pasar Mayestik. The initiative, driven by the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (APRINDO) in collaboration with Perumda Pasar Jaya and supported by relevant ministries, is scheduled to run from December 1, 2025 to January 4, 2026. This program targets the participation of more than 200 retail companies and thousands of traditional markets. Its core purpose is to amplify end-of-year promotional momentum and stimulate economic circulation.
The head of the agency emphasized that the event aligns with Jakarta’s commitment to promoting inclusive economic growth ahead of the National Religious Holidays (HBKN) of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026. According to her, EPIC SALE 2025 is a strategic tool to preserve domestic consumption while empowering traditional market traders. She highlighted that the effort represents a breakthrough by consolidating retail malls and traditional markets under one promotional ecosystem. The government views this approach as a promising way to elevate market segmentation while retaining affordability for residents.
Elisabeth pointed out that the collaboration fits the vision of ensuring that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and traditional traders remain competitive amid ongoing digital transformation. She hopes that the cooperation among APRINDO, Pasar Jaya, and ASPARINDO will provide citizens with affordable staple goods in both modern and traditional retail spaces. The broader goal is to preserve people’s purchasing power while helping stabilize regional inflation during the high-demand Christmas and New Year season. Officials believe EPIC SALE 2025 can generate more equitable economic benefits throughout Jakarta.
The 2025 edition offers a wide range of promotions: Happy Hour, Buy 1 Get 1, Discount Festival, and Purchase with Purchase programs in supermarkets; and Year-End Festivals, discounted staple goods with support from food-related SOEs, and flash sales of fresh ingredients in traditional markets. The initiative underscores the idea that economic growth does not have to be limited to high-end malls but can also empower the pulse of grassroots trade. Residents across the capital are encouraged to participate responsibly and take advantage of price affordability during the campaign. With this, the city hopes to reinforce economic resilience while strengthening synergy between modern retail and traditional markets.
