55 Orphans at Daarul Rahman Orphanage Receive Assistance

Mayor of South Jakarta, Muhammad Anwar, urged his administration to strengthen social empathy by extending assistance to vulnerable communities. The call was reflected in a charity visit to the Daarul Rahman Orphanage in Pejaten Barat, Pasar Minggu, where 55 orphans received support. The initiative was framed as part of the local government’s responsibility to remain present among those in need. It also signaled an effort to narrow the distance between public officials and society.

According to Anwar, the assistance program was designed not only as social aid but also as a bridge between government and community. The orphans supported at the Daarul Rahman Orphanage are part of a long-standing foster and guidance program. Beyond financial support, the city administration emphasized moral responsibility toward disadvantaged children. The approach highlighted social care as a core value of local governance.

In addition to the donations, the South Jakarta administration distributed badminton sports equipment through the local Youth and Sports Sub-agency. Anwar stressed the importance of education and character building for children in orphanages. He encouraged caregivers to continue guiding the children to become a well-prepared and competitive generation. The mayor also indicated that educational cost constraints could be addressed through government support.

Chairman of the Daarul Rahman Orphanage Foundation, Ahmad Saiful Habib, expressed appreciation for the attention shown by the South Jakarta City Government. He viewed the visit as a meaningful example of leadership grounded in compassion. The foundation hoped such concern would inspire other officials to follow similar paths. In broader terms, the activity underscored the role of local leadership in nurturing social solidarity and shared responsibility.
