More than 18,000 tourists visited the Ancol tourism area in North Jakarta during the Isra Miraj holiday on Friday, highlighting a noticeable surge in public leisure activity. Corporate Communication of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk, Daniel Windriatmoko, said the figure marked an increase compared with the previous week. Visitor numbers were projected to exceed 20,000 the following day, with momentum expected to continue through Sunday. The rise reaffirmed Ancol’s position as one of Jakarta’s most resilient leisure destinations.
According to Daniel, Ancol’s appeal lies in its wide range of attractions that cater to all age groups. As a leading tourism hub in the capital, Ancol rolled out themed programs across its recreational units. Entertainment options were spread across beach areas, the Art Market, and major family attractions. These included some of the city’s most popular leisure facilities.
The lineup features one of the most iconic amusement parks in Indonesia, Dunia Fantasi (Dufan), along with Sea World Ancol, Samudra Ancol, Atlantis Water Adventures, and Jakarta Bird Land. Management emphasized that all units were prepared to deliver a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable holiday experience. Supporting facilities such as parking were also reinforced across the area. The parking capacity accommodates more than 10,000 four-wheeled vehicles and over 15,000 motorcycles.
Visitors were reminded to remain alert to weather conditions and follow safety instructions, particularly during the rainy season. The holiday atmosphere was reflected in the experience of a visitor from Bogor, Mulyati, who chose Ancol for a family outing. She said her children especially enjoyed the educational attractions and water-based rides. Her remarks underscored Ancol’s reputation as a family-friendly destination that continues to draw repeat visitors.
