SMKN 44 Students Educated on Population Development

Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-agency held a population development outreach program at Vocational High School SMKN 44 in Cempaka Baru, Kemayoran. The activity involved 50 students and aimed to strengthen awareness of population administration among young people. Head of Central Jakarta Dukcapil, Syamsu Bachri, framed the initiative as an investment in future civic responsibility. He stressed that proper documentation underpins access to public services and legal recognition.

According to Bachri, population documents such as the electronic identity card, family card, and birth certificate function as more than basic identifiers. These records determine access to education, healthcare, banking services, and employment opportunities. He argued that early understanding would prepare students for adulthood in an increasingly data-driven public system. In his view, administrative literacy is a prerequisite for social inclusion.

Kemayoran District Dukcapil Sector Head, Ismawati, highlighted improvements in service accessibility. She noted that residents can now process population documents either directly at service offices or through online platforms. Ismawati encouraged students to actively verify the accuracy of their personal and family data. This approach, she said, reduces future administrative problems and strengthens data integrity.

SMKN 44 Principal, Tri Windaeti, welcomed the outreach as timely and relevant for students approaching mandatory identity card age. She described the program as aligned with the school’s role in preparing students for civic life. The initiative was seen as reinforcing legal awareness and administrative discipline among youth. In editorial terms, the program reflects a broader push to cultivate responsible citizenship from an early age.
