The economy of Jakarta showed solid momentum in 2025, as Statistics Indonesia for DKI Jakarta, Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) DKI Jakarta, recorded economic growth of 5.21 percent compared with the previous year. This performance reflected a strengthening recovery across multiple sectors of the capital’s economy. Growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 was even higher, indicating sustained expansion toward the end of the year. These figures underline Jakarta’s role as a key engine of national economic activity.
According to Head of BPS DKI Jakarta, Kadarmanto, economic growth in 2025 was reflected in the value of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). GRDP at current prices reached Rp3.9 trillion, while GRDP at constant prices stood at Rp2.26 trillion. In comparison, the 2024 figures were Rp3.6 trillion at current prices and Rp2.1 trillion at constant prices. The increase illustrates both nominal expansion and real economic growth.
From the production side, the accommodation and food and beverage sector recorded the highest growth at 9.33 percent. This was followed by transportation and warehousing at 8.69 percent, and other services at around 8.46 percent. The manufacturing industry contributed 11.13 percent to the economy, while financial services and insurance accounted for 10.96 percent. These sectors collectively highlighted the diverse drivers behind Jakarta’s economic performance.
On the expenditure side, exports recorded the strongest growth at 12.50 percent. Household consumption remained the dominant component, contributing 62.80 percent to total expenditure. Structurally, Jakarta’s economy continued to be led by wholesale and retail trade, including motor vehicle and motorcycle repair, with a share of about 18.12 percent. Compared year on year, Jakarta’s economy in the fourth quarter of 2025 grew by around 5.71 percent, confirming a consistent upward trajectory.
