Gambir Subdistrict Earns ‘Towards Informative’ Category from Jakarta Information Commission

The Jakarta Information Commission has awarded a score of 77, categorized as “Towards Informative,” to the Gambir Urban Village administration in Central Jakarta. The score was part of the 2025 Public Information Transparency E-Monitoring and Evaluation program. The results were delivered during an official visit to the Gambir Urban Village office on 12 March 2026. Officials said the evaluation is intended to encourage improvements in public information services at the local government level.

Head of the Information Dispute Resolution Division at the commission, Agus Wijayanto Nugroho, explained that the institution routinely evaluates Information and Documentation Management Officers, known as PPID. The process is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Public Information Disclosure Law No. 14 of 2008. According to him, the assessment result should serve as motivation for public bodies to continue improving their transparency practices. Regular monitoring is also meant to ensure that citizens can access public information through official procedures.

Agus encouraged the Gambir administration to learn from other urban villages in Central Jakarta that have already achieved an “informative” status. He suggested applying the ATM principle—Observe, Imitate, and Modify—to strengthen public information management. The presence of a functioning PPID unit is considered essential to handle public information requests properly. With clear procedures in place, residents can better understand how to obtain official information from government institutions.

The commission also reminded public institutions to regularly update the Public Information List and the Exempted Information List each year. Maintaining updated records ensures that available information remains relevant and accessible to the public. Gambir Urban Village Secretary Rahmat Amin expressed appreciation for the commission’s recommendations and pledged improvements in the future. He said the local administration would work to strengthen its information services so that it can achieve a higher rating in the next evaluation.
