The Jakarta Ramadan Festival 2026 has officially begun and will run through March 31, 2026, offering broader opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to market their products during Ramadan. The initiative is designed to boost domestic consumption while ensuring affordable access to essential goods. It also aims to stimulate retail activity across the capital ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
Head of the Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and MSMEs Office, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, said the festival is a collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government, business actors, and shopping centers. In partnership with mall operators, the city is also hosting Jakarta Festive Wonder and the Ramadan and Eid Clearance Sale from February 27 to March 31, 2026. These programs feature major discount events across malls in Jakarta to encourage spending and energize the retail sector.
According to Ratu, the series of events serves as a key momentum to maintain regional economic stability during Ramadan. She emphasized that the festival represents concrete collaboration to ensure residents can access basic necessities at affordable prices while giving MSMEs more space to increase sales. The broader goal is to strengthen the trade ecosystem, help control regional inflation, and improve community welfare.
As part of the festival lineup, the administration will also organize Pasar Murah (cheap markets) and Ramadan bazaars from March 2 to 13, 2026. These will take place in 44 subdistricts and at Jakarta City Hall. Through these initiatives, the government hopes to safeguard affordable access to staple goods while expanding promotional channels and revenue opportunities for local MSMEs ahead of Eid.
