The South Jakarta Public Order Agency intensified monitoring and enforcement against alcohol, illegal drugs, and other social disturbances during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri. Head of the agency, Nanto Dwi Subekti, said the effort is aimed at maintaining public order and community peace throughout the fasting month. Authorities are conducting widespread inspections across all districts in the area. The operations target unlicensed alcohol sales, illegal medicines, and activities categorized as social disturbances.
According to Nanto, several inspections carried out during Ramadan uncovered 86 bottles of unlicensed alcoholic beverages in the Cilandak district. Officers also confiscated 1,336 illegal pills in the Pesanggrahan district. In addition, authorities secured 21 individuals categorized as People in Need of Social Welfare Services during operations in Kebayoran Baru and Kebayoran Lama. These findings were part of ongoing enforcement aimed at ensuring public order during the holy month.
Nanto explained that shops found selling alcohol without permits or distributing illegal drugs were given written sanctions and had their confiscated goods destroyed. Meanwhile, individuals classified as People in Need of Social Welfare Services were handed over to the Social Affairs Office for further handling. The enforcement actions reflect the administration’s effort to coordinate between agencies in addressing public order issues. Officials say cooperation among institutions remains crucial in managing social concerns during Ramadan.
The South Jakarta Public Order Agency has also urged all field officers to continue collaborating with neighborhood leaders and local residents to maintain a safe environment. Nanto further called on parents to pay closer attention to their children’s activities during Ramadan to prevent involvement in negative behavior. Authorities hope the intensified monitoring will bring positive benefits to the community. The agency emphasized its commitment to keeping South Jakarta safe and orderly throughout the holy month.
