A task force from the East Jakarta Parks and Forestry Sub-agency successfully cleared two fallen trees at separate locations on the evening of 14 March. The incidents occurred in the eastern part of Jakarta and were handled quickly to prevent disruptions to public activities. Officials said the fallen trees were removed the same night so that traffic and daily routines could resume normally the following day. The response involved a specialized team responsible for tree maintenance and emergency handling.
Head of the Green Belt and Cemetery Section of the agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita, explained that the incidents took place on Jalan Swadaya Raya in Duren Sawit and on Jalan Raya Pagelarang in Setu, located in the Cipayung area. In Duren Sawit, the fallen tree was a tanjung tree with a diameter of about 25 centimeters. Meanwhile, in Setu, another tanjung tree measuring around 30 centimeters in diameter also collapsed. Both incidents were caused by strong winds that struck the area.
To handle the situation, the agency deployed 12 members of its parks task force, particularly those assigned to tree pruning and maintenance. The team worked through the night to remove the tree trunks and clear the roadways. According to Pratita, the swift response ensured that no prolonged disruption occurred for residents or road users in the affected areas. By completing the cleanup promptly, normal traffic conditions were restored.
A local resident, Andi, expressed appreciation for the quick response by the authorities. He said the fallen tree on Jalan Raya Pagelarang had briefly blocked the roadway and could have caused traffic congestion if not handled quickly. The rapid evacuation helped prevent disruptions to transportation and daily activities in the neighborhood. Residents welcomed the prompt action, noting that it helped maintain safety and convenience for the community.
