Neighborhood Chief in Gandaria Utara Continues to Innovate

Head of Neighborhood Unit 11/07 in Gandaria Utara, Kebayoran Baru, Imam Busori, has once again introduced new innovations for residents in his community. After previously implementing the Gerbang Pintar e-Gate 11 program and an anti-stolen vehicle GPS system, the neighborhood administration is now developing additional security systems alongside a digital marketplace for residents.

Imam explained that the focus of the community is no longer limited to environmental security but is also expanding toward strengthening the local economy. The initiative reflects a broader effort to combine public safety, technology, and community-based economic empowerment at the neighborhood level.

According to Imam, the newest security innovation includes a panic button system and nighttime public warning speakers known as Si Jaga Warga. Loudspeakers have been installed at six points throughout the neighborhood to remind residents, especially children and elderly citizens, to remain alert during nighttime hours. The system is directly connected to emergency panic buttons that can trigger announcements through the loudspeaker network whenever urgent assistance is needed. Imam stated that all equipment is currently funded using neighborhood operational funds, although he hopes external support will eventually help expand the program further.

Beyond security initiatives, the neighborhood is also preparing to launch an Android-based marketplace platform called RT 11 Mart, which is expected to become available through the Google Play Store. The platform is intended to serve as a marketing space for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises operated by residents within the community. Imam explained that many residents already run small businesses and cooperate with existing online marketplaces, but the new platform could provide additional opportunities to attract buyers and increase household income. The marketplace system will maintain the sellers’ original product prices while adding courier fees and community contributions, with part of the proceeds planned to support future neighborhood programs and social activities.

Imam further revealed that the community is also designing service-based business initiatives, including tent rental services and a local wedding organizer program aimed at creating employment opportunities for residents without permanent jobs. A waste bank program is also being prepared as part of a circular economy initiative that encourages residents to sort recyclable waste such as bottles and cans into economic resources. Meanwhile, Muhammad Fahri, Head of Gandaria Utara Urban Village, praised the innovations developed by RT 11/07 and noted that the neighborhood had previously participated in a community security competition organized by Mabes Polri. Local authorities believe the continued development of these community-based programs can strengthen social solidarity, improve public safety, and create sustainable economic opportunities for residents.
