Sunter Lake Area Reorganized by SIGAP Team

Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of North Jakarta, Wawan Budi Rohman, confirmed that the city’s SIGAP task force has carried out a comprehensive cleanup and reorganization effort in the Danau Sunter area. The initiative was launched following instructions from North Jakarta Mayor Hendra Hidayat to address conditions that were previously considered poorly managed. The operation focused on improving safety, comfort, and the overall visual appeal of one of North Jakarta’s key public spaces. This reflects a broader push by local authorities to enhance urban livability through targeted interventions.

The SIGAP team prioritized organizing messy overhead cables, cutting unused lines, and securing others to create a cleaner and safer environment. In addition, tree pruning was conducted as a preventive measure to reduce risks from fragile or overhanging branches. These steps highlight a practical, on-the-ground approach to urban maintenance that directly addresses everyday hazards. The effort demonstrates how small but consistent improvements can significantly impact public safety.

Authorities also urged visitors and small business operators to use designated parking areas to avoid illegal levies. Official parking has been prepared at the GOR Sunter complex and nearby shop-house areas, offering regulated and safer alternatives. Coordination with property managers ensures these facilities remain accessible and properly managed. This aspect of the initiative underscores the importance of regulation in maintaining order in busy public zones.

The SIGAP operations are largely driven by public reports submitted through the JAKI platform and social media channels. Cross-agency teams are deployed daily to respond სწრაფly and effectively to these inputs. According to local feedback, including from small business owner Yoyok, the area now feels noticeably safer and more organized. Overall, the program illustrates how responsive governance and community participation can work together to improve public spaces sustainably.
