The South Jakarta Administration has extended the contracts of 1,911 Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) serving as teachers under the South Jakarta Education Sub-agencies for Regions I and II. The contract renewal ceremony reaffirmed the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to maintaining a professional and competent education workforce. All participating teachers had met the required qualifications and demonstrated strong records of discipline during their service. The renewed contracts will remain valid for three years, from June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2029.
South Jakarta Vice Mayor, Ali Murthadho, thanked the teachers for maintaining their integrity as civil servants throughout their previous contracts. He said their professionalism and commitment had earned them the opportunity to continue serving in Jakarta’s education system. Ali also encouraged the teachers to remain patient while guiding students and to uphold high ethical standards in their daily work. He urged them to keep improving their skills and always give their best to every student they teach.
Meanwhile, Head of the South Jakarta Personnel Agency, Irpan Maulana, said the contract extensions reflect the provincial government’s broader effort to strengthen the quality of public education. He explained that 925 teachers came from the South Jakarta Region I Education Sub-agency, while the remaining 986 teachers were assigned to Region II. According to him, maintaining a stable and qualified teaching workforce is essential to improving educational outcomes across the city. The administration expects the renewed appointments to boost both motivation and performance among the teachers.
The contract renewal highlights the continuing investment in human resources as Jakarta seeks to improve the quality of its education system. By retaining experienced teachers with proven performance records, the administration aims to provide greater continuity in classrooms and better learning opportunities for students. Officials believe professional development and strong integrity remain key pillars in producing future generations capable of meeting the country’s challenges. The renewed agreements therefore represent not only an administrative process, but also a long-term commitment to strengthening education in South Jakarta.
