The Central Jakarta Family Welfare Movement (PKK) organized a cervical cancer screening and early detection program for around 100 PKK members from eight sub-districts on June 18 at RPTRA Gondangdia in Menteng. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with Bunda Hospital as part of efforts to improve women’s health awareness and encourage preventive healthcare measures.
Central Jakarta PKK Chairperson, Witri Yenny Arifin, emphasized the importance of early detection in identifying cervical abnormalities before they develop into more serious conditions. She noted that cervical cancer remains a highly dangerous disease and stressed that regular screening can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment when problems are detected early.
Witri also expressed hope that more corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives would support similar health programs in the future to improve women’s health outcomes. In addition, she encouraged PKK members and women in general to adopt healthy lifestyles as a preventive measure against cervical cancer and other serious illnesses.
Meanwhile, Agus Heru Darjono said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the health of women and children. Citing data showing that two Indonesian women die from cervical cancer every hour, he described the screening program as an important early detection effort. He added that the company is ready to continue working with the Central Jakarta administration on future programs aimed at improving women’s and children’s health.
