DKI Jakarta Confirms CCTV Operations Are Normal Across Official Channels

The Jakarta Provincial Government’s Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) has confirmed that all CCTV infrastructure operated by the Jakarta administration around the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout remains fully functional and operating normally. The clarification was issued in response to media reports stating that several CCTV feeds in the area could not be accessed by the public on June 12. According to Diskominfotik, the cameras continue to play an active role in supporting public safety, security, order, and area monitoring in coordination with law enforcement authorities. Officials emphasized that the surveillance system itself has experienced no operational disruptions.

Head of Diskominfotik, Marulina Dewi, stated that the Jakarta government’s CCTV network remains in prime condition and continues to function as intended. She stressed that the cameras are actively used for monitoring activities and maintaining situational awareness across the city. The agency sought to reassure the public that the surveillance infrastructure remains reliable despite reports suggesting otherwise. As a result, authorities maintain that there has been no interruption to the system’s core functions.

Addressing public complaints about inaccessible CCTV footage, Diskominfotik explained that the issue stemmed from a third-party digital platform rather than the Jakarta government’s official CCTV system. The agency clarified that certain websites or platforms displaying CCTV feeds are not official channels and are not managed by the provincial government. Therefore, any problems related to streaming quality, data availability, or access on those platforms fall entirely outside the government’s control. Officials noted that such disruptions should not be interpreted as failures within the official surveillance network.

Diskominfotik further emphasized that difficulties experienced on external platforms do not reflect the actual operational status of Jakarta’s CCTV infrastructure. The agency stated that the original CCTV system continues to record and monitor conditions in the field effectively and without interruption. Officials reiterated that all cameras remain operational and are supporting security and monitoring efforts as intended. The provincial government therefore urged the public to distinguish between issues affecting unofficial platforms and the performance of its official CCTV network.
