The DKI Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency is holding a training program for managers and supervisors of Village Red and White Cooperatives from June 17 to 19, 2026. The initiative is designed to strengthen human resource capacity and improve cooperative management so that organizations can operate professionally, sustainably, and in accordance with good governance principles. A total of 534 cooperative managers and supervisors from across Jakarta’s administrative cities and regency are participating in the program.
The training covers self-development, cooperative governance, business management, and financial management and reporting. Siti Aedah from the Ministry of Cooperatives of the Republic of Indonesia praised the DKI Jakarta administration for organizing the program, emphasizing that improving cooperative human resources is a shared responsibility between central and local governments. She described the initiative as clear evidence of the government’s commitment to strengthening the capabilities of cooperative leaders and supervisors.
Siti also highlighted the achievement of 267 Village Red and White Cooperatives in Jakarta, all of which successfully conducted their 2025 Annual Members Meetings, completed report verification through the cooperative information system, and obtained business identification numbers, tax identification numbers, and cooperative bank accounts. According to her, these accomplishments demonstrate effective mentoring and support for cooperatives that were only established in 2025. She noted that achieving full compliance within such a short period reflects strong institutional guidance and commitment.
Meanwhile, Deny Listiantoro explained that the training uses an andragogy-based approach focused on interactive and practical learning. Participants are encouraged to deepen their understanding of cooperative regulations, engage in discussions, exchange experiences, and build networks with other cooperatives. He stressed that the program is only the first step in strengthening the Village Red and White Cooperative system, adding that the DKI Jakarta government will continue providing guidance and monitoring to help the cooperatives become healthy, modern, competitive, and sustainable institutions.
