The Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) is holding the Jakarta Culinary Festival 2026, themed “Sedap Mantab Selera Jakarta,” at Plaza Festival in South Jakarta on June 20–21. The event serves as a platform to promote and celebrate Jakarta’s and Indonesia’s diverse culinary heritage while supporting the growth of creative economy businesses in the food sector.
The festival combines a variety of activities, including culinary bazaars, talk shows, live cooking demonstrations, food reviews with food vloggers, and live music performances. According to Head of Disparekraf Jakarta, Andhika Permata, the culinary subsector remains one of the key drivers of Jakarta’s creative economy and regional economic growth.
Andhika explained that the festival is part of the provincial government’s strategy to strengthen the creative economy by responding to the growing popularity of culinary tourism as an urban lifestyle trend. Through an integrated approach that combines promotion, sales, and entertainment, the event is expected to generate positive economic impacts, including higher business revenues and expanded employment opportunities for culinary entrepreneurs.
Open to the public, the festival welcomes Jakarta residents, domestic and international tourists, creative communities, and culinary enthusiasts. Organizers hope the event will further enhance Jakarta’s reputation as a competitive culinary destination while increasing business transactions and networking opportunities for food industry players. The two-day program features discussions with culinary experts, chefs, entrepreneurs, and cultural figures, alongside performances from a variety of local musicians and bands.
