The South Jakarta Transportation Agency (Sudinhub) is taking steps to prevent illegal parking and unauthorized parking fees during the upcoming Car Free Day (CFD) event along Jalan HR Rasuna Said in Setiabudi. Officials said previous CFD events in the area were generally safe and well attended, but several issues related to parking management and illegal levies still require attention. Authorities are now preparing additional measures to ensure smoother operations during future events.
Head of South Jakarta Sudinhub, Bernad Octavianus Pasaribu, explained that some motorcycles and cars were previously found entering restricted CFD zones, while vehicles parked along road shoulders contributed to traffic congestion on nearby regular routes. Following an evaluation, officials identified several challenges in different sections of the CFD corridor. Special access arrangements are expected to be strengthened around key locations such as the Malaysian Embassy and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health.
In Zone 2, which covers Jalan Pedurenan and the area around Perbanas University, authorities detected the potential for illegal parking fees linked to unauthorized parking activities. To address the issue, Sudinhub plans to install additional barriers along Jalan Pedurenan and near the university area to reduce violations. Enhanced monitoring and enforcement measures will also be implemented to maintain order throughout the event.
Meanwhile, in Zone 3, stretching from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) headquarters to Kuningan Madya, many CFD participants were found parking vehicles near the activity area. Bernad emphasized that providing integrated parking facilities remains a key requirement for the successful implementation of CFD along HR Rasuna Said. The Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared 3,687 parking spaces at locations including Pasar Festival, GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Rasuna Epicentrum, Setiabudi One, and Gedung Nyi Ageng Serang, while authorities will continue coordinating with parking management units to strengthen supervision and improve traffic flow.
