Hundreds of Children Participate in PAM JAYA’s Free Mass Circumcision at South Jakarta Mayor’s Office

Daya Wanita PAM JAYA, in collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Family Welfare Movement (PKK) and the Jakarta Kebaya Community (KKJ), organized a free mass circumcision program for 659 children from 65 urban villages across South Jakarta. The event, held at Darul Jannah Mosque Hall in the South Jakarta Mayor’s Office, formed part of the celebrations marking Jakarta’s 499th anniversary.

The program was attended by senior representatives from the Jakarta PKK, Dharma Wanita, KKJ, PAM JAYA, and the South Jakarta administration, reflecting broad cooperation between local government, community organizations, and the regional water utility.

Chair of Daya Wanita PAM JAYA, Lya Arief, said the mass circumcision program is part of PAM JAYA’s corporate social responsibility initiative and has been held annually since 2023. This year’s program is being conducted across Jakarta’s five municipalities and will conclude at Jakarta City Hall on July 8.

She explained that the activities are intentionally scheduled during school holidays so children can participate more comfortably while minimizing disruptions to their studies. Beyond providing free medical services, the initiative is intended to support children’s health and ease the financial burden on families.

PAM JAYA aims to serve approximately 2,000 participants this year, with around 500 children targeted in each municipality. According to Lya, participation in South Jakarta exceeded expectations, demonstrating strong public interest in the program. She added that collaboration with the Jakarta PKK has expanded outreach, particularly among lower-income families and PAM JAYA customers who require assistance. Looking ahead, the organization hopes to increase participant quotas so that even more children throughout Jakarta can benefit from the annual initiative.

South Jakarta Vice Mayor Ali Murthadho praised the partnership between PAM JAYA and the Jakarta Provincial Government for delivering social programs that directly benefit communities across the capital. He noted that the participation of 659 children from all 65 urban villages in South Jakarta reflected the community’s enthusiasm for the program and its positive impact. Ali encouraged parents to view the initiative as part of their efforts to support their children’s health and development. He expressed hope that the program would continue to bring lasting benefits while demonstrating the shared commitment of the Jakarta Provincial Government and PAM JAYA to improving community welfare.
