The Jakarta Provincial Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) held a Public Consultation Forum to gather feedback from the public and key stakeholders on its proposed service standards. Conducted virtually, the forum forms part of the agency’s effort to develop and finalize public service standards in accordance with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Regulation No. 16 of 2017. Representatives from regional government agencies, academic institutions, government offices, and other stakeholders participated in the discussion. The initiative reflects BKD’s commitment to making public participation an integral part of improving civil service administration.
The forum reviewed five key service standards, including the processing of civil servant dismissal decrees, promotion decrees, functional position appointment decrees, public service complaint handling, and public information requests. Feedback and recommendations submitted during the session will be used to refine the proposed standards before they are officially adopted. Secretary of the Jakarta Provincial Regional Civil Service Agency, Dessy Fatmasari emphasized that improving public services requires collaboration between the government and service users. According to her, meaningful improvements can only be achieved by incorporating perspectives from those who directly experience the services.
Dessy explained that personnel administration plays a significant role throughout the careers of Civil State Apparatus (ASN), covering promotions, functional appointments, and retirement benefits. For that reason, BKD continues to evaluate its administrative processes to ensure they become more effective, transparent, and accessible. She also highlighted that the quality of public services shapes public perception of government performance, making continuous improvement a strategic priority. As part of that effort, the agency is accelerating the transition from manual procedures to increasingly digitalized services.
Through the Public Consultation Forum, BKD reaffirmed its commitment to developing personnel services that are responsive to the needs of both civil servants and the wider community. Officials hope that input gathered from experts and stakeholders will help produce service standards that are more efficient, transparent, and user-oriented. The forum also featured speakers from the Regional Office V of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), the Jakarta Journalists Association (PWJ), and the University of Indonesia, demonstrating broad institutional participation in the consultation process. By strengthening collaboration and embracing public feedback, the Jakarta Provincial Government aims to build a more accountable and modern public service system.
