The South Jakarta City Administration held a workshop on social media ethics for civil servants (ASN), employee data updates, and talent management as part of efforts to strengthen a merit-based civil service system. South Jakarta Regional Secretary, Mukhlisin, said career development should be based on competence, performance, and potential rather than subjective considerations. He encouraged newly recruited civil servants and young ASNs to build their skills, maintain integrity, and continuously improve from the beginning of their careers. According to him, the Jakarta Provincial Government needs public servants who are adaptable, innovative, and committed to delivering better public services.
Mukhlisin also emphasized that young ASNs are expected to become agents of change by embracing technology, using social media responsibly, and setting a positive example both in the workplace and in the community. He added that maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records is essential for effective human resource management. Reliable personnel data, he said, serves as the foundation for transparent and efficient governance. The initiative reflects the administration’s broader effort to modernize public service management.
Meanwhile, Head of the South Jakarta Personnel Agency, Irfan Maulana, said the program aims to improve understanding of responsible social media use in line with government regulations, the ASN code of ethics, and the core values of BerAKHLAK. Participants also received guidance on updating personnel records accurately and on the principles of talent management, which emphasizes competence, performance, and future potential. The training is intended to ensure a fairer and more transparent system for career development within the civil service. It also reinforces the city’s commitment to implementing a stronger merit-based bureaucracy.
The South Jakarta administration said it will continue strengthening civil service governance through regular training, mentoring, and capacity-building programs. These efforts are designed to help ASNs perform their duties with professionalism, integrity, and accountability while adapting to advances in information technology. Officials hope the workshop will improve compliance with personnel regulations and encourage more responsible digital behavior among public servants. Ultimately, the program is expected to enhance the quality of public services across South Jakarta.
