Jakarta Remains a National Investment Magnet

Jakarta has once again recorded the highest investment realization among Indonesian provinces in the first half of 2026. Based on data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Jakarta recorded Rp173.6 trillion in investment, accounting for 17.2 percent of the national total. The figure consisted of Rp106.5 trillion in domestic investment and Rp67.1 trillion in foreign investment, reflecting continued investor confidence in Jakarta’s business climate.

Head of Jakarta’s Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency, Heru Hermawanto, attributed the achievement to cooperation between various stakeholders and policies prioritizing investment facilitation and public services. He said the city has continued to improve its investment services through the optimization of Public Service Malls, faster digital licensing, outreach services for businesses, and integrated investment assistance. These measures are intended to provide investors with greater certainty while making the investment process more efficient.

Jakarta has also strengthened data-driven investment promotion by mapping investment potential and developing Investment Project Ready to Offer, or IPRO, projects. Heru said these projects are prepared from technical, financial, and market perspectives so investors can make decisions with greater confidence. South Jakarta recorded the highest cumulative domestic and foreign investment at Rp62.7 trillion, followed by Central Jakarta with Rp49.9 trillion, North Jakarta with Rp23.1 trillion, West Jakarta with Rp20.6 trillion, and East Jakarta with Rp17.1 trillion. The Thousand Islands recorded Rp289 billion in investment realization.

The Jakarta administration said the city’s continued position as Indonesia’s leading investment destination is supported by several competitive advantages, including integrated infrastructure, a large consumer market, skilled human resources, and an increasingly mature business ecosystem. These factors, combined with improvements in public services and investment facilitation, are expected to maintain Jakarta’s attractiveness to both domestic and international investors. The provincial government is therefore continuing to strengthen its investment strategy to sustain the city’s position as a major economic hub.
