North Jakarta’s Sub-Department of Manpower, Transmigration and Energy held simultaneous walk-in interviews at six district offices as the closing event of the North Jakarta Job Fair, which ran both online and offline from August 19 to 28, 2026. The event attracted more than 3,000 job seekers and involved several companies conducting direct recruitment. Officials said applicants who had not registered for the earlier events could still participate by registering through the Karier Kerja application and bringing their application documents, including a curriculum vitae. The initiative was intended to ensure the job fair offered actual recruitment opportunities rather than serving merely as a formal event.
The walk-in interviews were held in Koja, Kelapa Gading, Tanjung Priok, Cilincing, Pademangan, and Penjaringan, with participating companies including Indomarco Prismatama, Kharisma Potensia Indonesia, Teleperformance Indonesia, Personel Alih Daya, and several others. Officials encouraged job seekers to make the most of the opportunity while helping companies find workers who match their requirements. The Head of Economic and Development Affairs in Kelapa Gading, Jose Rizal Silalahi, said district-level job fairs could help address the gap between the number of workers and available vacancies in North Jakarta. He suggested similar events be held every two or three months.
Jose also encouraged job seekers, particularly fresh graduates, not to hesitate to start their careers from entry-level positions. He said jobs in sectors such as culinary services and the creative economy could provide valuable stepping stones for career and educational development. Meanwhile, 24-year-old job seeker Sahrul Rijal Muttaqin traveled from West Jakarta after learning about the event through Instagram. The S1 graduate with food and beverage experience said the walk-in interview format was efficient because documents could be reviewed and interviews conducted immediately, making the recruitment process feel more personal and potentially more effective than conventional applications.
