A total of 64 civil servants from 32 Regional Government Work Units (UKPD) in West Jakarta took part in an online archival management training program held from Monday to Tuesday. The program aimed to strengthen the competence and professionalism of archival officers while ensuring records management meets national standards. Each UKPD sent two representatives to participate in the training via Zoom. The organizers also emphasized the strategic role of archives as valid evidence of government accountability and as a tool for decision-making.
The training focused on improving the management of dynamic records so government documents can be handled more effectively and efficiently. Participants received practical guidance and standardized references to support their daily responsibilities. The material covered active and inactive records, as well as vital and protected records. Training also included records disposal procedures and competency development.
The program was designed to help government offices prevent administrative problems that could arise from poor records management. Participants were given technical knowledge intended to improve the organization, preservation, and accessibility of official documents. They also had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss challenges encountered in their respective workplaces. A post-test was held as part of the closing session to assess their understanding.
Officials hope the training will contribute to stronger archival governance across West Jakarta government agencies. Better records management is expected to support accountability while making administrative processes more efficient. The program also seeks to ensure that archival officers have the skills needed to manage government records according to established standards. Ultimately, the initiative is intended to minimize future administrative difficulties through more professional and systematic records management.
