The South Jakarta Sub-Department of Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) held a Hard-Skill Entrepreneurship Training program focused on developing new food-based entrepreneurs at RPTRA Taman Gajah in Cipete Selatan, Cilandak. The two-day training provided both lessons and hands-on practice in making chikuro and meat-filled tofu, guided by chefs Kuswan and Novi Olivia from Olivia Baking Course. A total of 60 participants from 10 subdistricts across South Jakarta took part in the program. The initiative aims to improve community skills while encouraging the growth of new entrepreneurs, particularly in the food sector.
Head of the South Jakarta PPAPP Sub-Department, Rizky Hamid, also encouraged participants to take advantage of digital technology to introduce their products and build their business brands. He said digital platforms can help entrepreneurs expand their marketing reach and make their products more widely known. Participants were encouraged to create content showcasing their products, production processes, unique features, and advantages. Through these efforts, entrepreneurs can gradually establish a recognizable identity and attract potential customers.
Rizky emphasized that the training should provide more than just the ability to prepare food products. Participants are also expected to develop their products creatively, establish their business identities, and use digital technology to support marketing. He encouraged them to apply what they learned to generate additional income through sales of their products. The program therefore combines practical food-production skills with basic entrepreneurial and digital-marketing capabilities.
One participant, Hamidah, said she was enthusiastic about the training, particularly the session on making chikuro, which she believes is currently popular among consumers. She plans to practice making the product again at home before considering selling it. Hamidah said she hopes to add chikuro to the range of food products she already offers once she is satisfied with the recipe. The training is expected to help participants turn newly acquired skills into sustainable business opportunities.
