Visitors to Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) have continued to increase in recent years, supported by a growing number of events and the venue’s accessibility through Jakarta’s public transportation network. Head of SBU TIM at PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), Anya Aprillia, said TIM recorded around one million visitors in 2024 before rising to 1.5 million in 2025. By August 2026, approximately 900,000 visitors had already visited the cultural complex. The reactivation of the Planetarium this year has also contributed significantly to the increase.
The growing attendance has been accompanied by a wider range of arts, cultural, literacy, and educational programs held at TIM. Anya said the complex hosted around 700 events throughout 2025, organized both by its management and external parties. Major programs included the Jakarta International Photo Festival, Djakarta International Theater Platform, Jakarta International Literary Festival, Festival Musikal Indonesia, and Festival Kekayaan Intelektual. The variety of activities has strengthened TIM’s role as a major public space for cultural and educational programs in Jakarta.
Accessibility is another factor behind the venue’s growing popularity, with TIM located in central Jakarta and connected to several modes of public transportation. Visitors can reach the complex from nearby commuter rail stations such as Cikini and Gondangdia, while TransJakarta services are also available from a stop directly in front of the venue. Connections to the MRT and JakLingko networks further expand transportation options for visitors. The presence of various tenants, ranging from micro, small, and medium enterprises to retail businesses, also adds to TIM’s appeal as a public destination.
Among the newer tenants is DIF Chicken, or Disability Inclusion Food Chicken, an outlet created through a corporate social responsibility collaboration between Jakpro and Baznas. The outlet provides an opportunity for deaf individuals to work as sellers while adding another community-oriented function to the complex. With its combination of cultural programs, public transportation access, and diverse tenants, TIM is increasingly positioned as an accessible destination for Jakarta residents and visitors. Continued growth in attendance suggests that the complex is strengthening its role as a central hub for arts, education, recreation, and community activities.
