Interfaith Forum Donates Aid to Cipayung Police Station

In a show of solidarity, the Interfaith Forum of Cipayung District, East Jakarta, has donated aid for the repair and restoration of the local Police Sector Headquarters (Mapolsek), which suffered damage and destruction from recent anarchic acts.

Chair of the DKI Jakarta Forum for Community Empowerment (LMK) and Treasurer of the Interfaith Forum, Dwi Hartanti, explained that the donations were raised spontaneously by residents, interfaith leaders, community figures, local organizations, neighborhood associations (RW), and other elements of the Cipayung community. The initiative aims to restore services at the Mapolsek to their previous level, ensuring the community can continue to receive necessary police support. Hartanti highlighted that the collective effort exemplifies the unity and concern of the local community.

The aid provided includes a range of essential items: office glass repairs, 12 fully equipped computers, an air conditioner, three printers, office supplies, a police neon box, and a set of traditional Betawi-style benches. Additionally, funds were allocated for painting the building and addressing other immediate needs. The donations reflect a broad effort from various sectors of society, working together to repair the facilities and ensure the police can continue their essential work. Hartanti expressed hope that the assistance would help the Mapolsek serve the public efficiently once again.

Cipayung Police Chief, Commissioner Saut Parulian Tobing, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the support from the community, particularly the Interfaith Forum. Tobing emphasized that the donations would significantly improve their ability to provide optimal service to the public, helping the police department recover faster and maintain its critical role in public safety. He acknowledged that such acts of community support are vital for enhancing collaboration between the police and the citizens they serve.

The district’s Camat (Subdistrict Head), Panangaran Ritonga, added that the community’s efforts were part of the broader #JagaJakarta initiative, focusing on social action through the “Berbenah” (Renovating) campaign. Ritonga praised the solidarity and generosity of Cipayung residents, noting their commitment to creating a peaceful and comfortable environment for all. He urged the public to continue working together to maintain the peace in Cipayung, reinforcing the neighborhood as a safe and harmonious place for everyone.
