The Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Social Affairs Agency (Dinsos), called on residents to play an active role in maintaining public order, security, and social harmony. The appeal was linked to the 2025 National Social Solidarity Day, known as Hari Kesetiakawanan Sosial Nasional (HKSN). This year’s commemoration aligns with the Jaga Jakarta movement, which promotes collective responsibility in urban life. The initiative reflects the administration’s broader effort to strengthen civic values in a complex metropolitan setting.
Head of the Jakarta Social Affairs Agency, Iqbal Akbarudin, emphasized that HKSN should be understood as more than a ceremonial event. He framed social solidarity as a practical force that must be translated into everyday actions. According to Iqbal, solidarity forms the foundation of Jakarta’s ambition to become a harmonious, tolerant, and inclusive global city. This perspective positions community cohesion as a strategic asset in addressing urban challenges.
The provincial government also expressed appreciation for various social pillars supporting welfare services across Jakarta. These include Community Social Workers, Sub-district Social Welfare Officers, Social Welfare Institutions, youth organizations, disaster response volunteers, and peace facilitators. Their contributions were highlighted as tangible examples of partnership between the government and society. Such collaboration is viewed as essential in responding effectively to social issues.
Iqbal further stressed the importance of cross-regional solidarity, particularly in responding to recent disasters affecting parts of Sumatra. He noted that social concern should extend beyond administrative boundaries. The provincial-level HKSN 2025 commemoration, held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, concluded with a joint commitment by social pillars to support the Jaga Jakarta program. The event reinforced the message that solidarity and mutual care remain central to Jakarta’s social identity and future development.
