Munjirin Praises Performance of East Jakarta PMI

The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of East Jakarta convened its 2025 Working Meeting as a moment of reflection on its expanding humanitarian role. The meeting, opened by East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin, highlighted the organization’s sustained contributions in health services, ambulance operations, disaster response, and volunteer development. Local authorities framed PMI as an essential partner in public service delivery. The forum underscored how civic institutions rely on humanitarian organizations beyond times of crisis.

Mayor Munjirin praised PMI East Jakarta for consistently supporting government programs and addressing community needs. He pointed to initiatives ranging from disaster management and emergency transport to stunting prevention, communal sanitation, and elderly education. According to him, PMI’s presence has translated policy goals into tangible benefits for residents. The recognition reflected growing expectations for PMI to remain at the forefront of social services.

PMI East Jakarta’s reputation has also extended beyond the capital. The branch has become a reference point for other city, district, and provincial PMI offices across Indonesia. International engagement has followed, including visits from the South Korean Red Cross and the Tokyo branch of the Japanese Red Cross Youth. These exchanges signal the organization’s increasing relevance in global humanitarian networks.

Chairman HR Krisdianto said the working meeting focused on evaluating 2025 programs and shaping future priorities. He emphasized improving service quality, strengthening innovation in delivery systems, and reinforcing integrity and accountability. PMI aims to sustain its position as a professional and trusted humanitarian institution. The meeting concluded with a commitment to faster, more responsive services that align humanitarian values with public needs.
