Several Mikrotrans and Transjakarta bus routes were rerouted on Saturday following flooding in a number of areas across Jakarta. The diversions were implemented from the early morning as a safety measure to ensure passengers and maintain operational continuity. Transjakarta acknowledged the inconvenience caused and issued a public apology through its Head of Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, Ayu Wardhani. The move reflects a standard emergency response during periods of heavy rainfall and urban inundation.
One of the affected services was the JAK.05 Mikrotrans route connecting Semper and Rorotan, which was diverted at 5:54 a.m. The change was prompted by floodwater reaching around 40 centimeters on Jalan Madya Kebantenan, rendering the road inaccessible to regular vehicles. Under these conditions, continuing normal operations would have posed safety risks to passengers and drivers. The diversion highlights the vulnerability of several arterial roads during seasonal flooding.
Another adjustment occurred on the JAK.78A Mikrotrans route from Benda to East Cengkareng starting at 6:25 a.m. Floodwater measuring approximately 30 centimeters was reported at the entrance to the Cengkareng Business City area, prompting buses to reroute via the toll road. Despite the diversion, all designated bus stops along the route continued operating as scheduled. This ensured that passenger access to services was minimally disrupted.
Meanwhile, the Transjakarta route 3E Puri Kembangan to Sentraland Cengkareng was diverted at 7:45 a.m. due to flooding on Jalan Gunung Merapi. As a result, the Royal Palm 1 Bus Stop to Taman Palm 1 section was temporarily closed in both directions. Transjakarta advised passengers to monitor real-time bus movements through the TJ: Transjakarta application and follow official social media channels for updates. The guidance underscores the growing reliance on digital tools during service disruptions.
