The Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja Kecamatan Kepulauan Seribu Utara conducted inspections on the circulation of alcoholic beverages and expired products in Kelurahan Pulau Panggang as part of efforts to maintain public order ahead of Ramadan. The monitoring aimed to ensure a safe and conducive environment for residents observing the holy month. Authorities emphasized preventive measures rather than punitive action. The initiative reflects routine supervision to safeguard consumer protection and community well-being.
Subdistrict Head of North Thousand Islands, Yulihardi, stated that the inspections were carried out to provide residents with a sense of security and comfort. He stressed the importance of ensuring that food and beverages circulating in the community are safe and fit for consumption. According to him, maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during Ramadan is a shared responsibility. The administration encouraged businesses to help uphold order and product safety standards.
He added that the monitoring was conducted through a persuasive and educational approach. Business owners were advised to carefully check production dates and expiration labels on the goods they sell. The authorities called on entrepreneurs to maintain product quality and safety as part of welcoming Ramadan in a healthy and orderly manner. This approach prioritizes awareness-building over enforcement.
Head of Satpol PP North Thousand Islands Subdistrict, Edi Syahrudi, explained that officers inspected four shops located in several neighborhood units within Pulau Panggang. The results showed no distribution of alcoholic beverages, expired food or drinks, or damaged packaging. All inspected products were declared safe for consumption. The monitoring will continue periodically throughout Ramadan, including on other inhabited islands in the North Thousand Islands area, to maintain a conducive environment during the holy month.
