The Inspectorate of DKI Jakarta has launched the Mudik Aman Tanpa Pungli (MANTAP) campaign as part of efforts to prevent corruption and illegal levies during the holiday travel season. The initiative focuses on educating the public and providing a reporting channel for people who experience or witness illegal charges while traveling. Activities were held on 14, 15, and 17 March with the establishment of complaint posts at major transportation and public areas. The program aims to ensure a safer and more transparent travel environment for holiday travelers.
Inspector of Jakarta Province, Dhany Sukma, explained that the campaign is designed to encourage public awareness while giving residents a place to report suspected illegal levies. According to him, the initiative is a collaborative effort involving the provincial inspectorate, Polda Metro Jaya, the Jakarta Transportation Agency, and the anti-illegal levies community group Masyarakat Anti Pungli. He noted that the program has been implemented consistently for three consecutive years. The collaboration reflects a joint commitment to improving transparency in public services.
Complaint posts were set up at several strategic locations frequently used by travelers, including Pulo Gadung Bus Terminal, Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, and the National Monument. These posts function as reporting points where residents can submit complaints if they encounter or observe illegal levies, either directly or through electronic and non-electronic channels. Officials hope the accessible reporting system will encourage more people to report such practices. This mechanism is also expected to strengthen monitoring in crowded public areas during the travel season.
Through the MANTAP campaign, authorities aim to ensure that travelers feel safer and more comfortable while using public transportation during the holiday period. The initiative also seeks to raise awareness about the role of citizens in maintaining clean and accountable public services. Sukma emphasized that community participation is crucial in preventing illegal levies and strengthening transparency. By working together, the government and the public hope to create a travel environment that is safe, orderly, and free from corrupt practices.
