West Jakarta Library Services Closed Until Next Week

The Public Library of West Jakarta, located on Jalan Tanjung Duren Barat in Duri Kepa, Kebon Jeruk, has temporarily suspended its services starting 18 March 2026. The closure will remain in effect until 25 March 2026, following the government’s official collective leave schedule. This temporary halt is part of routine adjustments during the holiday period. Services are expected to resume fully once the break concludes.

Head of the Library and Archives Sub-agency, Achmad Jazuri, confirmed that the suspension aligns with the nationally निर्धारित leave policy. He stated that the library will reopen and operate as usual beginning 25 March. The decision ensures consistency with broader public service schedules during the holiday period. Authorities have advised visitors to plan accordingly during the temporary closure.

Prior to the suspension, the library had been operating normally throughout the month of Ramadan, albeit with adjusted hours. During Ramadan, services were available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, shorter than the regular schedule. Under normal conditions, the library operates from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. These adjustments are commonly implemented to accommodate changes in public activity patterns during the fasting month.

The library typically serves visitors from Monday to Sunday, with a brief break on Fridays between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Officials emphasized that full service hours will resume after the holiday period ends. The temporary closure is expected to have minimal long-term impact on public access to library services. Visitors are encouraged to return once operations normalize on 25 March.
