The accelerated repair of a landslide-damaged retaining wall in East Jakarta reflects the urgency of restoring critical neighborhood infrastructure. Located along Kali Baru in Batu Ampar Urban Village, the damaged structure spans approximately 10 meters and had significantly disrupted local mobility. Authorities have responded by deploying both personnel and heavy machinery to fast-track the rehabilitation process. As of late March, the project has reached around 60 percent completion, signaling steady progress toward recovery.
Kramat Jati District Water Resources Task Force officer, Mulyadi, outlined the technical measures being implemented at the site. Mulyadi explained that a spider excavator has been mobilized alongside ten Blue Troop personnel to support the repair work. This combination of manpower and specialized equipment is intended to ensure efficiency and structural stability. The project is targeted for completion within a tight timeframe, underscoring the importance of the route for daily transportation.
Following the installation of dolken supports, the next phase will focus on land reinforcement to secure the affected area. Mulyadi noted that the landslide zone will be filled with rubble and compacted using equipment from the East Jakarta Public Works Agency. This process is designed to restore the integrity of the inspection road adjacent to the river. Ensuring durability is critical to prevent future damage, particularly in areas prone to soil instability.
From the community’s perspective, the repair carries significant practical implications for daily life. Neighborhood head, Wawan Roswandi, emphasized that the Kali Baru Inspection Road serves as a vital access route for residents. Wawan explained that the road is frequently used by both motorcycles and cars, especially as an alternative to the often congested Jalan Raya Bogor. The restoration effort therefore represents not only infrastructure repair but also the reinstatement of a key mobility corridor for the surrounding community.
