Waste Pile at Kramat Jati Main Market Fully Cleared

Perumda Pasar Jaya has intensified its waste management efforts at Pasar Induk Kramat Jati as part of its commitment to maintaining a clean and comfortable market environment. The accumulated waste at the site was successfully cleared on Friday (10/4) after a series of intensive operations. The cleaning process was carried out daily from 2 to 10 April 2026 to ensure the market remained functional and hygienic. This initiative reflects the company’s focus on improving public service standards in traditional markets.

During the cleanup period, Perumda Pasar Jaya deployed a total of 212 tronton trucks and 16 typar units, amounting to 228 transport trips. The large-scale operation was conducted in coordination with the Dinas Lingkungan Hidup DKI Jakarta to ensure efficient and timely waste handling. Management stated that the increased number of transport cycles was a direct response to higher waste volumes during peak market activity. This coordination helped accelerate the clearing process and prevent further accumulation.

President Director Agus Himawan stated that the initiative is part of a broader effort to create a cleaner, healthier, and more organized market environment. He emphasized that waste accumulation at Pasar Induk Kramat Jati has now been fully resolved through continuous and intensive handling. According to him, the program is not only about sanitation but also about improving services for traders and visitors. He added that cleanliness is essential to maintaining the market’s long-term functionality.

In the long term, Perumda Pasar Jaya is also exploring innovative waste management solutions, including thermal hydrolysis technology and the MASARO (Zero Waste Management) system. These initiatives aim to reduce the volume of waste transported to final disposal sites by processing it directly at the source. The company hopes these efforts will support a more sustainable waste management system in the future. Ultimately, the goal is to transform the market into a model of both economic activity and environmental responsibility.
