Residents in Sunter Jaya Receive Government Food Support

Residents of Sunter Jaya Urban Village in North Jakarta warmly welcomed the distribution of food assistance provided through Perum Bulog at the RPTRA Pulo Besar community center. The program, which runs from June 9 to 11, 2026, aims to support low-income households by providing essential food supplies and helping ease the economic burden on local families. Thousands of beneficiaries are expected to receive assistance during the distribution period.

One recipient, 59-year-old Ida Farida from RT 07/03, expressed her gratitude after receiving the aid for the first time. She said the assistance would help meet her family’s daily needs and praised the orderly distribution process, noting that elderly residents and pregnant women were given priority. Ida also hopes the program will continue so that more people in need can benefit from similar support.

Another resident, Suryaningsih, 60, from RT 11/03, said she was thankful to receive the assistance for the second consecutive year. She explained that she came with her child to help carry home the package, which included 20 kilograms of rice and four liters of cooking oil. According to her, the aid provides meaningful support for household expenses and contributes to food security for families facing economic challenges.

Sunter Jaya Urban Village Secretary Nurul Hilal stated that the assistance is designated for residents registered in Indonesia’s Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS). A total of 4,629 beneficiary families across 11 neighborhood units are receiving the aid. He added that distribution is being carried out from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with officials working to ensure the process remains smooth, orderly, and reaches all eligible recipients while helping strengthen food security within the community.
