Maintenance Workers Repair Bus Stop at SMK Kemala Bhayangkari 1

The East Jakarta Highways Agency has begun repairs on the SMK Kemala Bhayangkari 1 bus stop along Jalan Raya Bekasi Timur in Cipinang, Pulo Gadung, as part of efforts to improve public transportation facilities. The work is being carried out by the agency’s Yellow Team after several parts of the shelter, particularly the flooring, showed signs of wear and deterioration. Faded paint caused by age and weather exposure has also prompted a full refresh of the structure. Officials said the damaged condition had begun affecting the comfort of residents who use the stop while waiting for public transport.

Head of the East Jakarta Highways Agency, Benhard Hutajulu, explained that the project is intended to restore both the function and appearance of the bus stop. According to him, public facilities must remain in good condition to properly serve commuters and encourage the use of public transportation. The repair effort includes fixing physical damage as well as repainting the shelter to give it a cleaner and more presentable look. Authorities believe these improvements will help create a more welcoming environment for passengers.

The project involves five members of the Yellow Team and is expected to be completed within a single day. Workers are focusing on ensuring that the shelter is safe, functional, and visually appealing once the repairs are finished. The initiative reflects ongoing maintenance efforts aimed at preserving public infrastructure across East Jakarta. Officials noted that routine maintenance is important to prevent minor damage from developing into larger problems.

Public response to the repairs has been positive. One public transport user, Sudarmadi, expressed appreciation for the work being carried out and thanked the authorities for improving the facility. He said that well-maintained bus stops are an important part of the public transportation system because they contribute directly to passenger comfort and safety. Residents hope the upgraded shelter will provide a better experience for commuters and support the continued use of public transportation in the area.
