Regent of the Thousand Islands, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan, has launched a new digital information service called Ngopi Seribu, short for Ngobrol Pagi Pelayanan Inspiratif Kepulauan Seribu (Morning Talks on Inspiring Public Services in the Thousand Islands). The podcast is a collaboration between the Thousand Islands Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Unit (UP PM-PTSP) and the local Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency.
Fadjar praised the initiative, describing it as an effective educational platform for communicating government programs to residents, particularly those related to administrative and licensing services. He said the podcast would help deliver important information from the provincial government while encouraging the public to make better use of available services.
According to Fadjar, easier access to licensing information could also help attract more investment to the Thousand Islands, supporting the region’s tourism-driven development strategy. He noted that improved business licensing would encourage investment, create jobs, and stimulate the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), while strengthening key sectors such as tourism, hospitality, cleanliness, and culinary businesses.
Meanwhile, Head of the Thousand Islands UP PM-PTSP, Wachid Wahyudi, said Ngopi Seribu was designed as an informative yet relaxed discussion forum that will regularly engage residents across the region’s 11 inhabited islands. The podcast will air every third Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. and can be watched through the official Instagram account and YouTube channel. He added that the program is interactive, allowing residents to submit questions directly to expert speakers, helping ensure public service information reaches communities across the archipelago despite geographical challenges.
