The West Jakarta Office of National Unity and Politics (Kesbangpol) held its 2026 Civil Society Organization (Ormas) Policy Implementation program, bringing together 80 representatives from eight community organizations. The event, opened by West Jakarta Administrative City Secretary Firmanudin, focused on strengthening the role of civil society organizations in supporting social development, national unity, and public participation. Officials emphasized that these organizations play an important role in channeling community aspirations and promoting shared values.
Firmanudin said community organizations should continue to be empowered so they can help preserve social norms, strengthen national cohesion, and contribute to addressing issues within society. He stressed that effective policy implementation is essential for improving organizational capacity, professionalism, and long-term sustainability. Beyond serving as platforms for public aspirations, he described civil society groups as development partners and guardians of local values.
The program also highlighted the importance of proper administration and legal compliance for community organizations. Participants were encouraged to maintain complete organizational records and ensure their legal status complies with existing regulations. Officials said stronger governance would enable organizations to operate more effectively while helping maintain public order and a stable social environment.
Meanwhile, West Jakarta Kesbangpol Head Tumpal Hasiholan explained that the initiative responds to the rapid growth, increasing diversity, and expanding public activities of community organizations. The program aims to improve the quality of human resources within these organizations so they can better develop their potential and contribute more effectively to society. Through stronger organizational capacity, the city hopes civil society groups will continue to play a constructive role in community development and social harmony.
