A total of 37 companies are participating in the Career Fest job fair at Ciracas Sports Hall in East Jakarta, offering more than 2,000 employment opportunities during the two-day event on July 28–29, 2026. Organized by the East Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-agency, the program aims to connect job seekers with employers while matching workforce skills to current industry demands. East Jakarta Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs, Fauzi, said the event serves as a bridge between local talent and the labor market. The job fair also includes dedicated vacancies for people with disabilities, reflecting a broader commitment to inclusive employment.
According to the organizers, Career Fest targets a wide range of participants, including job seekers, university students, vocational school graduates, recent graduates, workers affected by layoffs, and people with disabilities. Head of the East Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-agency, Sunjaya, said public interest has been strong, with 3,190 people registering online as of the event’s opening day. Among the 37 participating employers, five companies are specifically offering positions for applicants with disabilities. The event also features participation from state-owned enterprises alongside private companies.
Beyond recruitment, the job fair showcases vocational training centers in East Jakarta, including PPKPI, PPKPLas, and PPKD, to provide information on skills development and workforce training opportunities. According to the organizers, these institutions are expected to help visitors improve their qualifications and enhance their competitiveness in the job market. Career Fest is also complemented by a marketplace featuring 10 local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), highlighting support for entrepreneurship alongside employment. The combination of recruitment, training, and business promotion is intended to create a more comprehensive workforce development platform.
Overall, Career Fest reflects the East Jakarta administration’s effort to reduce unemployment by improving access to jobs while strengthening workforce readiness. By bringing together employers, training providers, and job seekers in one venue, the initiative seeks to better align labor market needs with available talent.
