Personnel from multiple regional government agencies (OPDs) took part in a community clean-up at Lebak Bulus Terminal in Pondok Pinang, South Jakarta, as part of an effort to create a cleaner and more comfortable environment for visitors. Around 20 personnel were deployed, with the initiative also involving intercity bus (AKAP) operators, vendors, and other stakeholders to encourage shared responsibility for maintaining the terminal’s cleanliness and appearance.
According to Lebak Bulus Terminal Head Joni Budhi, the clean-up focused on passenger waiting areas, the management office, prayer facilities, parking areas, and other public spaces. Activities included removing debris and litter as well as trimming overgrown vegetation that had affected the terminal’s overall appearance. The collaborative effort was intended to improve both the safety and comfort of passengers using the facility.
Joni also urged visitors to help preserve the terminal by disposing of waste properly and making use of the trash bins provided. He emphasized that maintaining a clean public space requires cooperation between authorities, businesses, and the community. The campaign aims to foster greater public awareness about environmental cleanliness while enhancing the overall travel experience.
Local resident Guntur Sulistyo welcomed the initiative, saying the condition of Lebak Bulus Terminal has improved significantly compared with the past. He noted that the cleaner and better-maintained environment reflects ongoing efforts to upgrade public facilities for the benefit of commuters and nearby residents. The clean-up underscores the city’s commitment to creating safer, healthier, and more attractive transportation hubs.
