The SIMPATIK Dukcapil program, initiated by the Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil), has received a positive response from residents of the Thousand Islands. The program provides population documents through a streamlined service in cooperation with healthcare facilities, allowing residents to obtain documents such as birth certificates, Child Identity Cards (KIA), and updated Family Cards (KK) quickly and free of charge. Residents say the service is particularly helpful for communities living in the island region, where access to government services can be more limited.
One resident of Kelapa Island, North Thousand Islands, Martini, shared her experience after giving birth to her third child at the North Thousand Islands Community Health Center in June. Around 15 minutes after the delivery, she received her daughter’s birth certificate, KIA, and updated Family Card on the spot. She later returned to the local Dukcapil service counter to replace her child’s lost birth certificate and said the process again took only a few minutes.
Head of the Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency, Denny Wahyu, said SIMPATIK Dukcapil is the result of collaboration with healthcare facilities to make it easier for residents to obtain population documents following important events such as births and deaths. Through its three-in-one service, parents can receive a birth certificate, Child Identity Card, and updated Family Card in a single process. According to Denny, providing these documents promptly helps children access their basic rights, including healthcare coverage.
Meanwhile, Head of the Data, Information, and Supervision Section of the Thousand Islands Population and Civil Registration Sub-Agency, Angga Noviar, praised residents who promptly replace lost population documents. He said this contributes to better population administration while ensuring residents receive services according to their needs without any fees. Officials also reminded residents to report any staff member who requests payment for document processing, as all Dukcapil services under the program are provided free of charge.
