The Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD DKI Jakarta) plenary meeting on Tuesday, September 22, approved the Regional Regulation on the 2026 Revised Regional Budget, or APBD. The revised budget is set at Rp79.562 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year. The approval formally establishes the revised budget as a regional regulation following the legislative deliberation process. The decision provides the framework for Jakarta’s government to implement its revised spending and development priorities for the remainder of the year.
Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, expressed his appreciation to the DPRD leadership and members for approving the revised budget. He said legislators had carefully and thoroughly reviewed the substance of the draft regulation before reaching an agreement. Recommendations, comments, and suggestions raised by the council throughout the discussion were described as important considerations for the executive branch. Those recommendations are expected to be followed up as the Jakarta administration implements the revised budget.
Rano also emphasized the importance of maintaining cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of the Jakarta government. He said the partnership and coordination established between the two sides should continue to be strengthened and optimized. Such cooperation is intended to support the implementation of strategic programs that provide practical benefits for Jakarta residents. The administration will therefore be expected to incorporate the DPRD’s recommendations into its subsequent policy and program implementation.
The approval marks the completion of the legislative process for Jakarta’s 2026 budget revision. With the new regulation in place, the executive branch can proceed with programs and spending under the revised fiscal framework. The Jakarta administration has also signaled that legislative recommendations will remain part of the implementation process rather than ending with the budget’s approval. Continued coordination between the DPRD and the executive branch will shape how the revised budget is translated into public programs and services.
